This was a fun assignment because I was able to catch the excitement and creative festivities. I enjoyed watching close friends and relatives enjoy the Luau and join with me as we sent Alex off into his bright future.

Visual Puns

In this assignment, we took photos from online and merged them together to make puns in a visual manner. The first one represents "time files" with the clocks in the sky with wings. The second one represents "baby corn" with a baby holding a stock of corn. The last one represents "gorilla glue"with the gorilla holding Elmer's glue.

Time flies

 Gorilla Glue

This was a fun and non challenging assignment. It took skills we have already mastered and put them to test. It was amusing coming up with funny puns to create an image out of.

Photo 6- People

In this assignment, I took photos of my friends and their family at their lake house. I tried to get them in portrait style while they were having fun.

Shutter: 1/50
Aperture: 7.1
ISO: 200

This was a fun shoot. The boys were very corporative and they have a lot of fun smiling for the camera. The day was very sunny and as a result, most photos turned out a little bright. Nonetheless, I was able to capture the fun and excitement of the day at the lake.

Photoshop Tutorial

For this assignment, we were to look on line to find photoshop tutorials on our own. I found one that was to make a sphere around the subject in the setting of mountains

The link to the web site is
http://www.photoshopstar.com/photo-effects/how-to-create-mental-sphere/

This assignment was fun but quite difficult. I never actually got it the way it was suppose to look like. I must have missed a step or messed up a step that was un do-able. Nonetheless, I felt the picture still came out with it's own originality and turned out to look pretty cool.

Portrait

In this assignment, we took photos with a studio setting and a natural light setting. We took subjects and made them in the light of a good photograph.

This was a difficult project at some points. To try and find good sunlight for the natural light ones was a bit challenging because shadows were hard to eliminate.  Other than that, it was fun to put together photos in a professional manor.

Motion

In this assignment we took photographs of Mr. O'Donnell while he drove by on his motor cycle. Our goal was to get motion behind the bike.

I liked this assignment but it was difficult getting the right amount of movement with the bike to get the blurriness of only the background. I had to edit a lot behind him because the inconvenience of the green house was unattractive in the photo.

Photograph 5- Animal

In this assignment I took photos of my new puppy Chase. I chose animals because my family just got Chase and he's an adorable puppy.

Appeture: 5
Shutter: 1/30
ISO: 1600

This was a very difficult assignment for me because Chase barely ever stood still for a good photograph and the camera I used had no settings to help me freeze him in action. Nonetheless, I got some playful photos of him in his finest.

Panorama

In this assignment, we had to take three or four pictures of a certain area panned out. We took those three photos and uploaded them into photo shop. Photo shop then took the pixels of each photo and lined them up to look like one large picture

In this assignment, I didn't struggle all that much. I don't feel like I got good spots around the school to make great panoramic pictures. I enjoyed the look of the panoramic photos, but I had some difficulties finding what would make a good panoramic picture.

Photograph Assignment 4- Still Life

In this assignment I chose to do Still Life. Still life is sort of like an advertising photograph. This type of assignment is to make the item seem appealing.

Aperture: 8
Shutter: 1/13
ISO: 400

In this assignment I took a white blanket and used it as my back ground and took arrangements of lights to try and create my own personal studio. It was difficult to try and get the exact correct lighting but it worked out pretty well and it was a lot of fun.

School Context

In this assignment we took an every day picture from our school and turned it into something unpredictable. Many people did some type of cartoon or well known movie. There wasn't much restriction you just had to be as creative as possible. I chose to take a picture of our normal stair case and turn it into the Cinderella scenario.

In composing this assignment I had a lot of fun creating an outrageous scene from an ordinary picture. It was a little difficult trying to get the hang of all the different layers that you had to mess with to get the picture exactly right. I could of done the railing a little bit better in my opinion if I had more time to work with.

Photo Assignment 2- Black and White

In this assignment I chose black and white. I chose black and white because I wanted to see the difference it just simple colors can make in photographs.

Exposure: 22.4
Shutter: 1/1600
ISO: 160

In this assignment, I learned how taking away color can make a deeper statement in some pictures. I liked how the photographs were more accented with the black and white background. It wasn't difficult to find subjects because I thought a lot of everyday items looked much more expressive with the black and white setting.

Pop Art

In this assignment, we had to transform a picture in photoshop and duplicate and change the color in each photograph.

In this assignment, it took me a while to figure out how to do it. I had difficulties with some of the steps and it still didn't turn out the way it was suppose to. I didn't like how it was suppose to be a simple concept, but it was one of the most difficult projects I have done.

Photograph Assignment 2- Micro

In this assignment I chose micro. I chose micro because I wanted to capture the little details on every day items that are not typically looked at in major detail.

This is my best photograph

Exposure: 2.8
Shutter: 1/200
ISO: 1600

In this assignment, I learned the importance of keeping the camera steady to get a clear and accurate portrayal of the subject. In some photos, you can see a little bit of blurriness which shows the some what of a struggle I had. I also learned how much the little details can make a photo look great or awful. For example, in this picture of a screw, it shows how just a simple item can make a great photo. In the contrast, in the drinking fountain photo, it shows the dirty scrum all  over the head which creates a gross look. Little details, I found, made photographs beautiful or captures its hidden ugliness.

Reaction to Retouch Car

There is a lot of controversy about if editing photographs is the right thing to do or not. I believe editing photographs just means you're allowing the photographs to reach their best potential. There are many reasons to edit photos. Most the time, when a photo is edited it is much more appealing to the eye. People would not appreciate unedited photos, or they would just find them unattractive. For people to enjoy most photos, they need some type of editing whether it is cropping unwanted background or erasing un needed problems in the way of making a beautiful photograph. With out photo editing I believe people would lose interest and enjoyment in photography.

Here's a sight that shows you how photoshop makes the photograph better.

Retouch Car

In this assignment, we had to take a car photo taken by another student and photoshop it to make it look flawless. We cropped out all the messy un needed side distractions and blacked out the background. We also erased all the white blobs placed speratically on the front of the car.

Photograph Assignment 1- Nature

In this assignment, I chose nature because I love the beauty with in it. I tried to capture the essence of the flowers and and other nature objects.

This is my best photograph
Exposure: 6.3
Shutter: 1/40
ISO: 80

In this assignment I learned the difficulty in capturing nature correctly. It took me a couple tries to get that "perfect" shot. I really enjoyed seeing the up close beauty and looking at nature at different angles.

Photo Inspiration

For this photo assignment, I plan to capture nature. I really enjoyed the pictures of the close up flowers and other nature objects. I hope to capture some with depth of field as well because I think it gives the photograph more power behind it.

Composition Assignment

For this assignment, we had to research eleven different composition types before we began to take photos. After we had a good understanding of what each composition type was, we took many photos of each and chose the best to represent the different types in our slide show.

Rule of Thirds: Ducks in pond
Pattern: Open doors with one closed
Symmetry: Stair case
Texture: Flower buds on a branch
Depth of Field: Grass with boy in the background
Lines: Window railing
Framing: Chair legs with boy standing
Perspective: Stair case railing
Space: Chairs in hallway
Balance: Tree and tree reflection on water
Color: Markers in colorful cups

Summary: What I most enjoyed during this assignment was learning how to take different types of pictures. Before this assignment, I was unaware that certain compositions could change the idea of a photograph drastically. Also, I learned that photographs are typically based around the rule of thirds and how much more appealing to the eye that strategy is.
